I’ve noticed that students from A B C University (a reputed institution) are often given relaxation or preferential treatment in job vacancies. But why is that the case? Every student, regardless of their university, deserves to be treated equally. Many students are already struggling- academically, financially, and emotionally. Let’s not add to that by creating unfair advantages. Fair opportunities should be based on merit, not just the name of a university.
Imagine being an FMG and being called that “u bought a degree with money”… Some of my friends have faced this situation and it is disheartening to see
Its sad how often students are judged by their university and not actual skills and potential . Everyone deserves equal chances for opportunities regardless where they come from.
excatly
true
True Every Student needed to treat equally because everyone one is fighting their own battle emotional, physical and financial. it not good for the confidence of the deserving Students
Yes in my university they select only their favourite students for job selection, interview process, and shadowing other students and after them they blame them for everything
Yes it looks like sometimes that when the hiring season comes the recruiters first prioritizes the reputed institutions and it feels like they are not willing to recruit from the tier 2 and tier3 colleges/universities
Yes ofcourse, the same thing happens when fresher students who have enrolled to various skilling courses during or after graduation, they are selected for the job role quickly than a fresher who has not enrolled but still possess same degree. This should not happen, atleast the companies should consider their resumes, call them for an interview and then take the decision, they just select those students whose resume is forwarded via classes.
Exactly being in a reputed university doesn’t mean that you deserve great opportunities beside being careless about your career and just hanging out. People who are getting graduated from university which are not popular hold a great knowledge and they are more self-learnt.
I have witnessed how students of noted universities have an edge in employment opportunities and this is not fair. Nobody can be given a short shrift to any student just because of their background. A lot of them already have academic, financial or emotional challenges.
I think it is fair for those students to get preference as a fresher because almost all of those prestigious universities use a specific way like JEE advance, NEET, CLAT etc.. for giving admission to those deserving students who can actually crack those entrance exams, apart from that these universities also provide excellent latest modern facilities and have best mentors for educating students. so, why should not they get preference as a FRESHER.
It’s the sad reality of educational institutions nowadays. It’s been all about money and never the merit. The grand institute you are in the grand job offer u get and to get in it u give a grand. Periodt!
It is disheartening to see that a person is only being judged on the university name and getting preference even if the other person (more knowledgeable more hardworking but don’t have a big university name) is being treated less.
It is a very harsh truth that the students get the respect in the company by knowing their university name, today the skills were secondary firstly they see your degree is belonging to which university, and if the University become popular it will rises its fees and it can’t be affordable by the many students and they can’t get the opportunity to show they are potential.
Yes university is a brand tag because a reputation university gives you opportunities and we used that in a better way everyone’s Having a wish to join in a better university because of their standards
Every person should be treated equally. Giving equal opportunity helps organisation to get best candidate. Sometimes reputed university fails to deliver quality education.
I observed that university tag quite helpful in your cv, but in interview you required knowledge.
Well said fact of current education system. This may enhances the chances of Depression in students due to employment to particular A B C university students only ! We all the students and supporting teachers and parents must take the note of same and must provide employment to every students, doesn’t matters to which university he/she belongs !
Absolutely. Everyone should be the priority. It should not be limited on the basis of the university but should depend upon the skillet and dedication.
