Understanding Your Body Type in Ayurveda

In Ayurveda, your Prakriti is your unique physical and psychological constitution, determined at the time of conception. It is based on the dominance of three biological energies called Doshas:

Vata (Air + Ether) – governs movement and communication

Pitta (Fire + Water) – governs metabolism and transformation

Kapha (Earth + Water) – governs structure and stability
Each person has a combination of these doshas, with one or two usually being dominant. This affects everything from body structure and skin type to digestion, emotions, and disease tendency.

:ocean: KAPHA (Earth + Water)
Body: Heavy, soft, oily skin
Mind: Calm, loving, slow-moving
Health risk: Obesity, sinus, sluggish digestion
Needs: Light, spicy food, regular exercise
