On June 12, 2025, an Air India flight crashed shortly after takeoff, fatally colliding with the undergraduate hostel mess at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. Among the many lives lost were five medical students, with over 50 others injured, some critically. The plane, bound for London, had 242 people on board— only one person survived. The crash site—once a place of daily student life—has now become a scene of unspeakable devastation.
Students were eating lunch. Moments later, they were caught in one of the worst aviation disasters in India’s recent history.
As the medical community reels from this immense loss, there is grief, shock, and reflection. The psychological trauma experienced by survivors, student doctors, first responders, and families is beyond words. The very people being trained to save lives have suddenly become victims and frontline witnesses of a catastrophe.
This is really a very saddening and unfortunate news to hear .
May all the souls rest in peace .
May God give strength to all the families who lost their loved ones in this unfortunate incident .
