We celebrate our freedom every 15th August.
But today, I want to ask a different question.
A mother shouldnโt have to choose between
buying medicines and feeding her family.
A patient shouldnโt travel hundreds of kilometres just to find a specialist.
A rural student shouldnโt have fewer opportunities
simply because of where they were born.
A pharmacist shouldnโt be seen only as
โthe person who gives medicines.โ
And a researcher shouldnโt have to leave the country
to find an environment where their ideas can grow.
We celebrate:
Indiaโs scientific progress.
Our pharmaceutical industry.
Our researchers.
Our expanding healthcare system.
And yes, we have come a long way.
But independence isnโt only about building more.
Itโs also about asking:
Who can actually access what we have built?
Can every patient afford quality treatment?
Can every Indian reach timely healthcare?
Can every young researcher get a fair opportunity?
Can every healthcare professional receive the respect their role deserves?

Because a true India isnโt just a country that can manufacture medicines.
Itโs a country where every person can access them.
Freedom gave us a nation.
Our responsibility is to make it healthier.
One question for you:

Give the honest one.
Iโd genuinely like to hear your perspective.
