When I was in my 2 yrs , our professor told us to debate on this specific topic which was “the healthcare should be free for all or not”
And I choose the against side , not because I don’t have feelings, there is a reason behind it …
What I feel is healthcare can be very cheap but not free cause that will make some ethical moves and people will then not respect the hospital and doctor as of they are doing now … There will be a financial problem also for all over the hospital in india… And actually in India there is about 1.4 billion people living with 7th largest land area and to do the free healthcare… The government have to make lots of descision and changes which might leads to nucencse…
So in the end I am just trying to say that healthcare can be cheap but not free to maintain the respect…
Your opinion might be different from me

I agree with you. If health care provides the treatment for free then the value of the doctors will become low this is true. But the amount charging for the surgeries and treatment can be reduced if the patient has no capacity to afford. Then at that time healthcare professionals can cutoff the money right.Because many people are selling their lands and properties for the treatment cost.
I think that the cost of Surgeries and treatment can be reduced for the people who are financially weak and for some people it can be done free if it is any emergency case and required immediate treatment if their families can not afford the cost of treatment at that time
Healthcare being entirely free might strain resources and affect quality. A mixed model with subsidies, insurance, and public-private partnerships could make healthcare affordable and sustainable in India, balancing accessibility and quality while respecting healthcare providers. This approach might better suit India’s diverse needs.
Give treatment depending on their economic status. Let people who can afford it pay, and the middle class and poor ones get discounts or free treatment. Medical treatment’s should never be a burden.
Yes I agree. Healthcare can be given in affordable prices. Because if everything available for free treatment then I think people will not have the attitude to take care of their health.
Healthcare should be free. If healthcare is not free then it can create many consequences like increase in spread of infectious disease, only those live whose have money, it will decrease the hygiene of the society, etc.
Anuj there are so many yojna given by government for poor people and also home yojnas soo why there are soo many homeless and poor people living win India. Free healthcare will only lead to one moree way for corruption, I respect your humility and your opinion but it’s practical not correct
Yes i agree with u because if we get anything free it will lost respect . Health care faculty faces many difficulty to reach the stage to get the respect so it can be cheap but not free
In my opinion, healthcare must rest on the financial capability of an individual. In the case of the economically weaker sections, it must be necessarily free—health is a right and not a privilege. However, to the people who can afford it, it is worth the decent price so that the system is not strained and there are funds to serve the people in the additional time of need. The balance we should strive to achieve is to make healthcare affordable and accessible to all and to be fair.
Free healthcare ensures that everyone has equal access to medical services, improving public health and reducing poverty caused by medical expenses. It supports the idea that health is a basic human right. However, it can also lead to issues like overuse of services, higher government spending, and longer wait times. A well-balanced system is needed to ensure affordability without compromising quality.
This is very true, what does not have a price or consequence often gets disrespected or taken for granted. Healthcare should be affordable to all, but with laws that ensure the generosity of the system suffers no abuse.
An important and thought-provoking perspective! While free healthcare sounds ideal, it rightly points out the challenges especially in a country as large and diverse as India.
