It is a type of phobia. Psychologists call this fear Atelophobia.
What does this phobia do?
It makes you delay starting any task because you are afraid the result will not be good enough. You feel that if you start a task, it must end perfectly. But you know you can’t attain perfection.
So you don’t start.
If you start a task and, in between, feel that it needs a lot of energy because you keep changing it multiple times to make it perfect, it exhausts you before completing it.
So you leave it unfinished.
You stop because you feel:
Why waste energy when I can’t reach perfection?
