The ATHLETE in me!

Along with agriculture sector , INDIA is a sporting nation too . Every child is born with some or the other sporting or athletic talent in them. It’s in the blood of Indians. The pattern in India is almost decided , the child is born , as the child grows , he/she dreams of becoming a sportsman , plays each and every sport , some of them continue it and some vets other routes in their livelihood.
Something similar happened with me , born in a very middle class family , the family which always dreams , that their would be an engineer or doctor one day.
But here’s the twist , me as a 2 year old child started holding a cricket bat , which would definitely have felt like a magic stick at that time .
My father would bowl me and we would play for whole day after my father arrived from his work.
As i grew up , things changed , my thought process changed , my game became much better at just 8 years of my age .
My elder brother used to play with his friends of his age , my curiosity had always helped me through out my life , I still remember when i started playing in my elder brother’s group they treated me as their younger brother , which shaped me as a person a lot .

I started playing cricket after few years , we were a group of almost 20 to 25 friends of all age , of my age of my brother’s age and even elder than him . My batting was top class i bowled like a professional bowler and my fielding was top class as well , all boxes ticked , wow ! Sowly slowly everyone started calling me by name ‘Chota Tendulkar’ . I just can’t express that feeling here . But it was extra ordinary.
In my schooling days , I have represented my school in 4 sports cricket , table tennis , badminton and carrom .
I understood my caliber when I was in 8th but did not had enough maturity to know what exactly I needed to do at that time .

When i used to compete with the people much elder than me in our society at that particular time i realised I am some different in this field.

All those dreams are now memories living a life of a doctor (my father’s dream ) but still think I can carry that baton from where I had left . Only One thought exhausts me that at this point of time I cannot pursue my dream , the dream that taught me to live , the dream that taught made me humble , the dream that reminds me who I am !

What did your dreams taught you ? Let me know in the comments section.
