Could Indian PharmDs and clinical teams finally become central to global drug development?

Will this redefine India from a manufacturing base to an R&D powerhouse?

Question to you:

India has the talent, especially with skilled PharmDs and clinical teams. But we need better training, stronger ethics, and global-level infrastructure to truly lead. If companies like Takeda trust us with global trials, it’s time we step up—not just as support staff, but as innovators. We must break the “arm-worker” tag and prove our worth in R&D. The shift won’t be easy, but it’s possible if we believe and prepare.

Exciting, Takeda is now planning global clinical trials right here in India boosted by our diverse patient population, growing infrastructure, and cost effectiveness. At the same time, they’ve launched an Innovation Centre in Bengaluru hiring hundreds in AI, data science, and tech to fuel drug development and digital solutions locally.
