“If I tell you everything, what use was the report?” → Reports support your story, not replace it!

“Doctor, can I take antibiotics with milk?” → Usually not ideal; dairy can interfere with some antibiotics.

“BP is high only when I’m angry…” → It still counts. Stress-related spikes are still hypertension.

“I don’t feel diabetic anymore…” → Diabetes doesn’t go away just because symptoms fade.

“Can I stop my thyroid tablet if I feel fine now?” → Not without a doctor’s advice. Feeling fine isn’t the same as being fine.

“Had acidity after eating chicken once – am I allergic?” → One episode isn’t enough to confirm allergy.

“Does using mobile at night cause brain tumor?” → No strong evidence supports that.

“I took paracetamol before the test so results come normal.” → It might mask symptoms, but lab values don’t lie.

“Can I drink cold water in fever?” → Yes, hydration matters more than temperature.

“If I take medicine thrice instead of twice, will it work faster?” → No, it may harm you instead.

“Can I eat mango during jaundice if it’s before 6 pm?” → Time doesn’t matter; moderation and doctor’s advice do.

I got one … Can I eat sweets with insulin intake ?! :skull:

Honestly, these are the exact questions people are often too shy to ask. But everyone’s body is a bit different and instead of guessing or Googling, it’s best we look at your reports and talk it through properly.

Doc saheb, I give janam ghutti to the baby. Koi side effect to nahi hai naa?
However, despite a disapproval from the doctor, daadi’s decision will prevail upon and the kiddo will keep getting doses of janam ghutti. All happy in the family.:sleepy_face:
Note: Janam ghutti is unique to Indian sub continent only. The other species of homo sapiens just do well without it.

Nice✨

What I observed is that the patient don’t want to answer the questions we ask for detailed assessment as it took various aspects to check on. They might feel like why are we asking so much of questions?

Some patient may get annoyed, as they won’t us to get the information from the reports only.

Whenever we ask something the only reply that came from their end is - " Here are the reports check it out!"

Not all the patients but some of the patients!

How can we deal with such situation?

Great list! I have been frequently asked this Q- " I Googled the symptoms—are you sure it’s not cancer?"

I have heard of the BP question too. As a dentist I would come across questions like -can I get a filling for the tooth why to do root canal ?
I don’t want to extract my teeth as It wil give me a headache
