Which would you prefer: the fast-paced learning of a biotech startup or the steady career path of a global biotech giant?
I think the fast-paced learning environmentof a biotech startup would involve a lot of trial and error, deeply inclined in research, requiring a brilliance and resilience that not a lot of students may have. A steady career in a global biotech giant would mean routine, predictable work that is not as stressful or demanding as the academic requirements and dedication demanded of startups. Personally, I would consider a startup only after establishing myself for a few years in a stable company.
Iβd prefer a startup because fast-paced learning, handling multiple roles, and building something from scratch sounds really exciting and challenging. But honestly, to start a successful startup, we need strong technical knowledge, industry exposure, and the right network. So I personally feel itβs better to first work in an MNC β to gain experience, understand the industry, build influence, and learn how big systems work. Then, we can use all that to build something of our own with more confidence and clarity.
I would say MNCs because it will give me the guidance, teaching from my senior colleagues.
