SPF : Sunscreen isn’t enough

Applying sunscreen in the morning has become second nature for many of us, but stopping there might be doing your skin a disservice. In my article, I explore one of the most common sunscreen mistakes, assuming SPF alone guarantees full day protection.

The reality is more nuanced. SPF mainly reflects protection against UVB rays, while UVA rays, which are responsible for deeper skin damage and premature ageing, continue to affect your skin throughout the day, even through windows and during routine indoor activities. Without proper UVA protection and timely reapplication, that initial layer of sunscreen gradually loses its effectiveness.

What makes this issue more concerning is how invisible it is. There is no immediate sign when protection fades, yet cumulative exposure quietly contributes to pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and long term damage. It is not about skipping sunscreen, it is about understanding how to use it correctly.

Are you rethinking how you use sunscreen every day?

This article breaks down why SPF is not the full picture, the importance of broad spectrum protection, and why reapplication is the step most people overlook. It might change the way you think about your daily sun protection routine.

Yes, we need to think before applying sunscreen. Now a days sunscreen companies show highest protection and show grades of SPF and PA.
