I’m glad to share that my article on self-medication is now published.
Self-medication is widely practiced, yet not always safe.
Many people use medicines without proper guidance, often unaware of the potential risks involved. Most of these risks are preventable with the right knowledge.
I spoke with Dr. Noor, Pharm.D, Clinical Pharmacist at Medanta – The Medicity Hospital, to gain a clinically informed perspective on self-medication.
The article covers:
→ What self-medication is and why it is so common
→ Risks associated with improper use of medicines
→ When self-medication may be considered safe
→ The importance of responsible and informed use
I would like to sincerely thank my trainer, Himani Negi, for her constant guidance, support, and encouragement throughout this process.
This is part of an effort to promote awareness and encourage safer healthcare practices.

Great work on this important topic. Self-medication is common but awareness about safe use is really needed. Thanks for sharing such useful information.
I think real cause for going towards self medication is the cost they have to pay to the doctors on every visit. If those are given at minimal cost self medication might reduce.
As a pursuing MBBS student, I have always insisted on the prevention of self medication at all times among my family members knowing the risk factors associated with it. As people get more and more educated there is actually an increasing tendency to treat themselves which is inappropriate most of the times and proper awareness regarding this is to be forwarded among all.
Thank you so much. I’m glad you found it useful. Raising awareness about the risks of self-medication and promoting safe practices is really important today.
That’s a very responsible approach. It’s true that increasing access to information sometimes leads to more self-medication, making awareness and proper guidance even more important. Your efforts in educating those around you are truly valuable.
