Do you know about second heart of our body ??..it is a muscle - can you tell name of this muscle??
Let’s discuss
Why??
Soleus
Soleus muscle of the leg as its contraction helps in pooling of blood from deep veins into superficial veins
Soleus muscle located in the superficial posterior compartment of the leg, deep to the gastrocnemius muscle is know as the Second heart of our body.
Soleus muscle (Calves) since they pump blood back to heart via a valve mechanism when they contract
Soleus muscle - “calves”
Soleus
The soleus muscle which make up the calf of the body.
Commonly, it is called as Calf Muscles.
If I go into the deeper information, then calf muscle consists of two muscles i.e. Gastrocnemius and Soleus.
Soleus is the main muscle which works as a second heart of the body as it help the veins to drain the blood upside into the heart against the gravity more efficiently.
soleus leg muscles
Cool!
Really nice explanation…
Soleus muscle
Soleus Muscle. I’ve seen them throbbing after a long run.
Soleus is the peripheral heart
Called so because of the venous plexus present over there
The “second heart” of our body is “calf muscle” specifically the “soleus muscle” It is called the second heart, because it plays a important role in pumping blood back up from the lower body to the heart, especially when we walk or move our legs. It helps maintain proper blood circulation and prevents blood from pooling in the legs.
The soleus muscle (in your calf).
Soleus muscle . I don’t know about this fact but I have recently go through the topic of calf muscle which is posted earlier on the site and I wondered to know about it.
The calves because it pump blood back to the heart when contracts, helping push blood upward through one way valves in vein.
The Soleus muscle.
