Resveratrol, Blueberry, Cranberry and Raspberry Exhibit Protection Effect to Photodamaged Hair

When hair is exposed to the sun there may occur protein degradation, which alters its physical appearance. Thus, beneficial hair adjuvants with addition of natural sunscreens are sought for cosmetics development. Hair conditioning products containing resveratrol, blueberry, cranberry and raspberry in optimum proportion shows the protective action against sun exposure. Resveratrol alone shows better hair fiber protection against solar radiation. But when resveratrol used with others it shows synergistic effect and increased photo protection.

Great topic, Hair is delicate sunlight can break down proteins and leave it dull or dry. But conditioners enriched with resveratrol and berry extracts like blueberry, cranberry, and raspberry have been shown to help. In lab tests, they helped hair hold onto an essential building block called cystine, suggesting they can reduce sun damage.

Resveratrol , is the drug the longevity. It works at level of SIRTUIN 1 which regulates gene transcription , cell death , DNA repair and aging. It is extracted from red wine and known for French paradox i.e despite of diet rich in cholesterol and saturated fatty acid , French tends to have lower coronary heart disease. But in recent studies it was seen that dairy and folate rich fruit consumed by French also aids to it, not red wine alone.
