I followed the following method

  1. Narrowed down the departments and topics i had interest in that departments.
  2. I asked seniors about the supportive professors in interested departments, i consulted them about my topics and ask if any better ideas they had.
  3. I got most supportive response from one of three interested departments.
  4. The sir/ mam you talk to from, you get most positive response will become your guide if u do research under him/her.

How how to start research

  1. Form your research question after following above topic.
  2. Create a proposal to be presented in ethical committee- it consists precisely everything about your research- topic, description, literature review, study methodology, study design, tools of research, etc.
  3. Get your proposal accepted through ethical clearance from your college ethical committee. Ask the method of applying in it from psm/ pharmac/respective departments under which all this process go through.
  4. You can also apply for ICMR if in 1st - 3rd year.
  5. After getting clearance you can start your respective research paper work.

Thank you so much! This is really helpful!

  1. Start with your college. Approach your faculty who also do active research.
  2. Align with with your seniors and help in Data gathering and in paper writing in whatever way they need your help. Eg: case studies, etc.
  3. Look out for research opportunities in your town in other universities.
  4. Search online for research opportunities.

Recently, the NMC has included seminars in the MBBS undergraduate curriculum.

In the Anatomy department, first-year students are assigned topics, and they conduct a literature search, follow a structured methodology, perform dissections or bone studies related to their topics, prepare and present seminars, and even have the opportunity to publish their articles with the guidance of residents and faculty.

Many enthusiastic students have already published their research articles within our department.

I believe this is a very good and accessible way for students who are interested in research work to get started.

You can do any ISMR project under guidance of professors
But choose your topic and guide very properly as they will play big role in your selection
So get one good topic from your guide go read about it then make a proposal

Ps :- itโ€™s only for MBBS 1 st and 2 nd year student only
You can check for other courses
