No doubt, remote work can have a drastic impact on our eyes. The vegetables that are mentioned here are loaded with significant phyto-metabolites that actually provide the protection to the eye. “Carotenoids” like “Lutein” and “Zeaxanthin” (present in Spinach, Corn) help in filtering harmful blue light. “Beta-carotene” (Carrots, Sweet potatoes) helps in corneal well-being and night vision. “Anthocyanins” (Blueberries, Purple cabbage) can reduce eye inflammation. Also, “Lycopene” (Cooked Tomato, Watermelon) assists against light-induced eye damage and “Quercetin” (Apple, Onion) helps in the reduction of inflammation in the retina. Comprehensively, constant intake of all these vegetables create a natural defense system against eye damage that can be caused and aggravated due to long exposure to screens during remote work.
