Ranitindine : A safety perspective

Ranitidine is widely used for GERD, but it is banned across the world by several regulatory bodies after discovering it’s potential carcinogenic contamination. This raised the concerns for long term usage as, when the drug is exposed to heat, the carcinogen levels are increased with time.

Following the global regulatory actions, India removed the drug from National list of essential medicines in 2022.

Still in India the drug is neither banned nor restricted its use. The status of ranitindine remains complex and evolving.

Truly said, people who has acidity problem directly purchase ranitindine from medical store.

Regulatory actions should be taken as ranitidine as used as gem chocolates nowadays in every other household.
