Radio waves : A new hope to Bring back sense of smell

Imagine if Radio waves the same thing used in mobile , Radio could help the people smell again sounds amazing it is becoming possible with new science!
Our sense of smell is more important than we realise .It helps to enjoy the food , detect the danger like smoke or gas leaks and even affect the memory and emotions especially people after. Covid-19 Aging brain injury like Alzheimer’s suffer from the loss of smell
By the AIP publishing researcher from Han Yang university and Kwangwoon university in south korea introduced a simple and painless way to improve sense of smell using radio waves.

How Radio waves help?

Scientist are discovering the gentle radio waves can stimulate the brain areas involved in the smell

  1. Wake up sleeping smell nerves in the nose or brain
  2. Boost brain activity to help the brain relearn how to smell

This can be happens by wearing devices like head band or small patches that send safe low energy signals to the brain

What actually happens after the first therapy

Some people who lost their sense of smell after the virus shows improvement after short sessions of radio wave treatment

The waves gently massage the brain smell centres helping them to work better

It is completely non invasive no surgery or no needles

What would be the futureIn the coming years

Smell therapy devices at home

Smart systems that adjust the stimulation based on the progress

This research gives the new hope to million people’s who thought the sense of smell never come back It is a safe and simple and could be life changing

This is interesting, just a 5-minute blast of radio waves (2.45 GHz) at the forehead can boost your sense of smell, raising odor detection scores from about 9.7 to 15.8 out of 16, and the effect lasts up to a week after a single session (even without any surgery or chemicals).

This could be a very beneficial for people dealing with smell loss from aging, COVID, or injuries and even benefit professionals like perfumers or baristas. Still, we’ll need thorough studies in patients before this moves from exciting lab news to everyday therapy.
