Pregnancy myths you have heard
The myth that certain foods can make it a boy (not realizing that gender or sex of the baby is determined at the time of fertilization).
Carrying low means a boy; high means a girl – Baby’s position doesn’t predict gender.
One myth is, not to eat anything that is warm. Egg , chicken, meat . This will result in miscarriage.
Glowing complexion means a girl, while a duller complexion means a boy.
If mother gains weight, it’s a girl and if weight gain is significantly less then it’s a boy.
Consuming saffron-milk will make the baby fair.
A pregnant woman should eat for two.
Truth:While nutritional needs increase, it doesn’t mean doubling the food intake. Overeating can lead to excessive weight gain and complications.
Some believe it is unsafe to travel. But travelling is not restricted for pregnant women unless they are around their due date .
Some believe that heartburn during pregnancy means the baby will have a lot of hair. There’s no scientific connection between heartburn and the baby’s hair growth.
Myths have no logic or rationale behind them.
Don’t eat papaya or pineapple.
That eating certain foods will effect the skin color of the baby. (fair/dark)
