Hi Manmohan,
If you ask me ,it depends on many things and person’s perspective
I am interested in R&D at multinational companies because it is more demanding.
As per my opinion the decisions depends on individual’s knowledge and expertise
My preference would be to work in R&D in the multinational company since I am attracted to innovation and impacts in the long term. Research also enables me to make contributions that will lead to discoveries to the betterment of the health of the world. Although clinical pharmacy is gratifying, I am more driven by analytical and exploratorial situations. I have had an internship experience in both environments, and R&D is a more suitable environment to my interest and expertise.
I would like to choose Clinical Pharmacist at a top hospital because I am more interested in directly interacting with patients and applying my knowledge to real-life .
As a part of my B. Pharm curriculum I have done a one month internship in a R and D company, that’s when I got interested in drug development and testing. So if I am asked to choose one, I would definitely prefer R and D.
Depends on a person’s perception and their interest.
I respect both the fields, but if I had to choose i would like choose non- clinical field like R&D, because if feel there is more to explore in that field
For me it is R&D
Research have always something new to do. And it also very interesting sector.
Personally, I’d go for R&D — more innovation, global exposure, and long-term career growth. But if someone’s passionate about direct patient care and making clinical decisions, hospital life is fulfilling too.
I will also like to know
R&D at MNC – for innovation, global exposure, and long-term growth.
Clinical Pharmacist – for direct patient care and hospital experience.
My pick: R&D – I prefer discovery and global opportunities.
If someone loves clinical setting they should go for clinical pharmacist, but its every hard to get one nowadays as they follow the quote “we prefer experienced ones” LOL
I myself have encountered this.
- Research and development in multinational company. Because by entering in this field i can practically gain the in hand experience in research and developing the new drugs. And also i can gain knowledge in various job roles by working in this department and various types of drugs were to be developed in the industry and handling of the equipments will vary for every different drug here we can learn about the instrumentations used in the laboratories. so i will choose this offer.
Solutions to the Dilemma

Abroad Options
That’s a tough one — both are great in their own ways!
If I had to choose, I’d lean towards R&D at a multinational company, especially if I’m interested in innovation, drug development, and working on a global scale. The learning curve, exposure, and opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge research are huge.
But on the other hand, Clinical Pharmacist at a top hospital offers direct patient interaction, immediate impact on care, and a deep understanding of pharmacotherapy. It’s more people-focused and incredibly rewarding in a different way.
If you’re already in one of these sectors, I’d love to hear how you feel about your choice!
Personally, I’m currently gaining experience in the clinical research side as a CRA intern — so I find myself drawn more toward R&D and trial-related roles.
R&D at a multinational company like if you are interested in research so, R&D is a best option and you will get a good growth in this and you have a great career if I compare to clinical pharmacist
First we should decide on what to choose based on our interests. If we don’t have an opinion, there’s nothing wrong in exploring and knowing by ourselves.
Yes, definitely R&D is also best option.
The person interested in research area can go for this.
And person have passion for work in community and social work go for hospital pharmacist.
If one enjoys patient interaction and stable jobs than Clinical Pharmacist is a good option. However R& D at MNC is a better option with regard to career growth potential, if one enjoys research and innovation and a corporate environment.
