Pharmacist and medication Safety in Everyday Care.

The responsibilities of pharmacists are very important to reducing medication errors by helping guide patients appropriately on how to take their medications (i.e., dosage/timing) and also on how to avoid drug interactions (e.g., part of proper patient education). Even small amounts of counselling at pharmacies have been shown to be effective in improving treatment outcomes and patient safety. Pharmacists contribute much more than just dispensing medications; they provide a means to provide informed, appropriate care to patients.

Agreed! Pharmacists contribute far beyond just dispensing medicines. They play a major role in shaping public health and patient safety. In India, Pharmacists are often stereotyped as merely dispensers of medicine; however, they are deeply involved in quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, drug safety and other critical healthcare domains.
