Understanding a patient is very important to maintain doctor patient relationship and giving correct diagnosis. It not only helps to generate empathy for patients but also help the patient to trust the doctor.

Some points that we should always keep in mind while understanding a patient perspective:-

*Patients often express pain or fear through body language and silence.

*Simplifying medical terms helps them to understand what exactly is going on.

*Building trust takes time and consistency that is, it’s more than just one appointment

*The most healing thing is truly listening without rushing to diagnosis.

*Respecting patients’ values and choices.

Explaining procedures, risks, and options in simple terms empowers the patient and strengthens trust. Consent isn’t just a signature; it’s a conversation.
