When I started my pathology intership as a trainee, I was very under confident at first- it started with pressure, confusion and self doubts as this was my first hand’s on experience. New environment , testing samples, reporting with accuracy and was an important responsibility as there is no room for errors.
For many days it was routine work testing samples, data entry, reporting but with passing days I realised something deeper. A single report can decide patient’s diagnosis, treatment ,medications , clinical decisions and all the outcomes depends on the accuracy of report. That realisation changed my mindset .
I started understanding not just performing. Analysis of every tests outcomes , more attentive to details as accurate precision is our responsibility. That’s where the real growth started. The internship not only build my skills but also gave a sense of responsibility towards my role.
When did you realise your work has really impacted and changed your mindset??
