Is there any logical scientific fact that tells us why we as females shoukd avoid going to the temples while we are menstruating since in our Indian society thats a firm belief!
in early period , temples are far away from home and no facility were “available”.
- No, there is no scientific evidence which I have heard of.
- It is just said that during periods a girl is carrying maximum amount of bad energy, and the temples have lot of positive energy. So, two opposite energies are not considered good spiritually.
Yes. It can be the reason. Social and Religious factors are also there.
There is no firm reason.
Its a matter of belief, only.
Menstruation is a natural biological process, not something impure or harmful. The belief largely stems from cultural and traditional practices, often rooted in historical ideas of ritual purity, not science. It’s important we start separating myth from medicine and respect both faith and facts with awareness.
In our society, people believe women should not go to temple during periods. But science does not say periods are dirty or bad. It is a natural thing in every woman’s body. This rule is from old customs, not from science.
There is no relation of science in calling menstruation impure or a women who is going through periods, will cause bad energy if entered temple. There is no relevance. It’s like we are still labelling “Periods is bad”.
I think there is no logical fact. Those are created just to give rest to those who are menstruating, by not letting them go to the temple and restricting daily activities.
No logic. Our ancestors did not have the benefits of current level of scientific knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, micro and pathology, so they derived their conclusions based upon their understanding that point of time.
Note: Homo sapiens is evolving fast now and given that AI has taken the humanity by storm, in 100- 200 to 400 years, homo sapiens may not be the same, may be some new species might evolve.
There is no logical scientific reason it’s just a belief in the society.
Yes I feel, in my point of view, it might be related to energies. During menstruation, women experience negative energy due to the pain and discomfort. On the other hand, Temples are filled with positive energy. So, when these two energies meet, it might cause some imbalance or even health issues. Maybe that’s why our elders made this decision. I’m not sure if this is the exact reason, but I personally believe in energies, so this explanation makes sense to me.correct me if I’m wrong.
There is no scientific reason for women to avoid temples during menstruation. Menstruation is a natural biological process and not something impure or harmful. The belief that menstruating women should not enter temples comes from ancient cultural practices tied to ideas of ritual purity, not science. These traditions may have originally been meant to offer rest, but over time became restrictive. Modern science recognizes menstruation as a normal part of reproductive health, and there is no evidence that it affects spiritual practices or sacred spaces.
I believe that during menstruation, the body undergoes a phase of altered energy levels and lower energy. Since temples are spaces of intense positive spiritual energy, visiting them during this time might affect our health
