Manifestation: Universe or Science?

Long time ago, I watched a TED Talk by an Indian physician who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor during his internship. Doctors had told him that he had very little chance of surviving beyond 5–10 years.

But he survived β€” and in that talk, he shared his healing journey.

One thing he said stayed with me:

Every single day, he would command his mind and body that his brain tumor would completely heal and that he would become healthy again.

Along with proper medications and every possible medical effort, this daily β€œcommanding” of the mind played a huge role in his journey. Today, many people call this manifestation.

But manifestation is not just magic.

Scientifically, when you repeatedly focus your mind on a goal or belief, it positively influences your brain. It activates systems like the Reticular Activating System (RAS), promotes neuroplasticity, shapes thought patterns, and gradually influences your actions, habits, and future decisions in that direction.

So maybe manifestation is not simply about β€œthe universe magically giving you things” β€” maybe it is also deeply connected with neuroscience and psychology.

What do you think?Do you believe in manifestation? And according to you, is it magic, neuroscience, or a mix of both?

If placebo effect exists manifestation can definitely work. It is not a magic it is your own conversation with your body. Talking to your body can certainly help it is neuroscience and willpower that lead to this magic. That is why it is said optimistic people survive longer.Neurologically brain of hopeful people remains active while neuronal firing reduces in a depressed individual. So I believe being optimistic could really cure many problems but mindset should be strong.

Manifestation is daily affirmations. These are like giving commands and reminding our brain on a daily basis, which turns into believes. The book The Power of your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy beautifully covers this topic.

It can be called the magic of neuroscience. We have not fully found out what amazing things the brain can do for us. This must be one of the many things the brain does, which we are unaware of.

Oh..thanks for book reference..

Yes..if we actually learn that deeply neuroscience is not less than magic.

Interesting question β€” I think manifestation is more connected to mindset, focus, and behavior than pure magic. When people consistently focus on their goals, it can influence confidence, decisions, and actions, which may indirectly help them move closer to what they want. So personally, I feel it’s more of a mix of psychology and mindset rather than something magical.
