Have you noticed people acting as if world entirely revolves around them? This behavior is described as Main Character Syndrome where people think themselves as the main personality of their lives and view others merely as supporting characters in their story.
Main Character Syndrome is not a medical condition but a behavioral aspect stemming from various influences.
Common Causes of Main Character Syndrome
· Lower self-este em
· Lack of empa thy
· Constant Social Media pres ence
· Insecurity and An xiety
Signs One May Exhibit Main Character Sy ndrome
· Constantly seeking attention from others.
· Ignoring or dismissing others’ o pinions.
· Dramatizing ordinary moments in dai ly lives.
· Refusing to acknowledge mistakes.
The effective way to manage this behavior is acknowledging it, practicing self-realization and actively working on change. If this has little effect, therapy can be considered as a support ive option.
From my perspective, main character syndrome is not entirely negative. If approached mindfully, it can encourage self-care, resilience against outside noise and personal growth. Ultimately, it depends on how one confronts and channels it.
