I’ve often wondered how much of what we achieve comes from pure effort… and how much is just being at the right place at the right time.
Some people work endlessly without a break and still struggle. Others seem to catch one lucky break and everything changes. But maybe it’s not either or. Maybe hard work prepares us for the moment luck knocks, and without that effort, even luck goes unnoticed.
Personally, I believe hard work builds the path and luck just decides when the light hits it.
What do you think? Is success more about hustle or chance? Would love to hear your take.
Yes.. it is the combination of both I guess.. but I have seen those who struggle keep toiling and end up with nothing much to show of it too.. so don’t believe much in luck .. I believe in the higher power than luck ..
I think it is a combination of both luck and hard-work. Sometimes, we do our level best yet things doesn’t go as expected, but there are days where things goes better than we expect it to be. At the end, our hardwork is what truly matters but with the magic of the luck-factor.
Both are important! We cannot just sit doing nothing and expect luck to work in your favor. I believe success needs both hardwork(or smartwork) and a bit of luck.
Definitely it is the combination of both. Hardwork gives you clear direction what is needed to done to achieve your goal and luck is basically the reward of your hardwork and dedication that help you to achieve your goal
In my view, success is rarely one or the other.Hard work lays the groundwork, it gives you skills, discipline, resilience the things that prepare you for opportunities. But luck? It’s the timing, the connection, the unexpected moment that opens a door you couldn’t have forced open yourself.
I think it’s a mix of both. Hustle is essential because it builds momentum, creates opportunities, and pushes you to improve. But chance—like timing, luck, or unexpected opportunities—can play a huge role too. It’s about being ready to seize those chances when they arise, after you’ve put in the work.
I believe both hard work and luck are equally important. Without one, the other doesn’t take you far.
You can work really hard, give your best every day but if luck doesn’t support even a little, reaching your goal becomes really tough. And same goes the other way if you’re lucky but don’t put in the effort, you’ll miss the opportunity when it comes. Hard work builds the way… but luck decides when that way opens up.
So yes, success is a mix of both effort and timing.
I believe hard work lays the foundation of any success and the right timing (often referred to as “luck”) is what takes us towards the route of an opportunity where we efficiently utilize our foundation to build that success; so success works both ways. I personally believe a good luck does not arise out of randomness, instead in the form of a chance, it mostly gets revealed to those who have been preparing sincerely and smartly. Consistent hard work sharpens both knowledge and intuition and it helps one recognize the right moment/opportunity, and also simultaneously it provides the courage to act on it. So while I respect luck, I do not wait for it specifically. I work in a way that if luck ever knocks, I should be completely ready at my end to answer.
I feel like luck might give you a moment, but it’s the hard work that helps you recognize it and actually use it. Without putting in the effort, even the best opportunities can pass by unnoticed.
