Is the Indian Pharmacy Curriculum Ready for the AI Revolution in Healthcare?

AI is rapidly changing healthcare — from drug discovery to patient-specific treatment. Tools like AlphaFold by DeepMind have revolutionized protein structure prediction, and pharma giants are hiring AI specialists over traditional researchers. But here’s the problem: most pharmacy colleges in India still don’t teach anything about AI, data science, or even basic programming. A 2024 NITI Aayog report highlights the urgent need to integrate digital health into life sciences education. Are we preparing to become obsolete before we even graduate?

Should AI and digital health be added to the B.Pharm/M.Pharm syllabus? Would you be willing to learn coding if it helped your pharma career?
