Is Menopause Actually Getting The Attention it Deserves?

For a very long time, the conversation around the menstrual cycle remained stigmatized. Lately, menstruation has become a widely discussed topic.

But what about menopause?

Menopause is not simply the end of a monthly cycle. It’s a biological transition that can bring physical, emotional, and hormonal changes.

Perimenopause is the phase when hormone levels begin to fluctuate, often beginning in the 40s. Research suggests that symptoms are often more prominent during this phase. Research suggests that menopausal symptoms may affect the daily life of women, including sleep, physical fatigue, and mental fatigue.

However, just like the menstrual cycle, every woman’s menopause experience is different.

Along with the biological aspect, socioeconomic backgrounds also play a role in menopause awareness. Due to limited access to healthcare, limited knowledge on menopause, and cultural silence, women may remain silent.

Also, some women might have gone through this even without knowing what’s happening or why.

It’s high time to shed more light on Menopause.

Menopause education is something to be considered more importantly for better understanding and support.

Is menopause awareness still lacking? Why do you think there is still a gap still exists in understanding and conversation about Menopause?

Menopause awareness is still not where it should be. This is because people often do not talk about it due, to taboos. Also some medical people do not get the training they need to understand menopause. Menopause is not often discussed at work, which is known as workplace silence. For a time people have not taken womens midlife health concerns seriously which is a problem. Menopause awareness is very important. We need to talk about menopause more.
