It’s sad but true.
Yes it’s sad reality of the society.
Yes I have seen this bias and its truly sad to see this kind of mindset of people. We as a society should appreciate every profession and not be biased to categorize ‘real doctors’. More awareness about the importance of roles and treating healthcare professionals equally can make a difference as everyone is working hard.
Yes, this bias is quite common and often felt by students in fields like BDS, BPT, and Pharmacy. Despite undergoing rigorous academic training and playing crucial roles in healthcare, they are often overlooked or not given the same respect as MBBS students. In colleges, clinics, and even within families, there’s a tendency to equate the title “doctor” exclusively with MBBS, which can be discouraging. This reflects a lack of awareness about the diverse contributions of other medical professionals, even though they are equally essential to patient care and the healthcare system.
It is a sad truth that this bias is real. Even though, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Pharmacy students undergo the same struggles, physically and mentally, the society will only give value and respect to the one’s with MBBS. Proper awareness is needed to let the society know about the roles and responsibilities of each profession in providing healthcare to the public and then only these societal perception will change.
Yes, this bias is very real. Many people think only MBBS students are true doctors, ignoring the hard work and knowledge of BDS, BPT, and Pharmacy students. It feels unfair, especially when all healthcare professionals play a vital role in patient care.
I am facing biasness in Government hospital as a pharm.d intern.
No not really but it’s one of the degree which is having high value and respect than other degrees
Yes, this bias is very real and deeply rooted in our society. Despite years of study and dedication, professionals like dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and especially nurses are often treated as “less than” MBBS doctors. Nursing, in particular, is unfairly seen as a low-grade career, even though nurses are the backbone of patient care. It’s heartbreaking to see how societal respect is so narrowly defined, every healthcare worker deserves dignity and recognition for their contribution.
MBBS is considered the ‘gold standard’ …… but this mindset overlooks the fact that healthcare is a team effort not a one man show. Dentists, physiotherapists, nurses and other professionals play equally vital roles.
There is a strong bias in India where only MBBS is seen as a “real” medical degree. This is unfair, as fields like BDS, BPT, and Pharmacy also demand years of study and play a crucial role in healthcare.
Absolutely, the bias is real.
MBBS is respected, but other medical fields like Pharm D, BDS, BPT also require years of training and play vital roles in patient care.
Healthcare is teamwork and all professionals deserve respect, not just one title.
Totally agree! In India, MBBS often gets all the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean other medical or healthcare degrees are any less valuable. Every professional whether a pharmacist, physiotherapist, nurse, or lab tech plays a vital role in keeping the system running. It’s high time we start respecting all medical fields equally.
Becoming a doctor is one of the most rewarding and respected careers globally. In India, an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree is the primary gateway to entering the medical profession. This rigorous program equips students with foundational knowledge and practical skills to diagnose and treat common medical conditions. However, the question remains: is an MBBS degree enough to truly excel in the ever-evolving field of medicine? Let’s dive into the scope of the MBBS program, the pathways for further growth, and why continuous learning is essential for a successful medical career.
yes true. I have seen it a lot of time, other profession is not given that much importance same as doctors .
Yes, that’s very ugly truth we face.
I am dentist and people call us that we are not doctor.
But when they need suggestion, they will call you in a second.
