Is laziness the new healthy lifestyle

Leading a healthy life requires various steps and processes. It is essential to lead a life without any health issues. This includes regular exercise and diet habits. But what if leading a lazy life is the healthy way?

Daily requirement

A healthy life requires 8,000 steps per day and 6-8 hrs of sleep. The step count could be achieved by regular exercise and other various methods to improve heart function. However, proper sleep is essential each day.

Both result in decreased health issues like cardiovascular disease, obesity, and controls diabetes, etc.

Exercise vs Sleep

Recent study has proven that sleep is more important than exercise. Sleep even influences your effectiveness of exercise. People who sleep more are more likely to have an increased number of steps per day, promoting health.

People who exercise regularly but lack sleep are unable to accomplish their health goals the next day and lag behind people who sleep properly.

Studies have even shown that excessive physical activity with unhealthy sleeping habits can attenuate the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Short sleep duration, the suggested causal links to adverse health outcomes included a series of pathologies including, hyperactivation of the sympathetic nervous system, insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunctions, and inflammation. Sleep deprivation significantly promotes excess energy intake and visceral obesity.

Final thoughts

This doesn’t distract us from the fact that exercise is essential. But a proper sleep-wake cycle is more important for the proper functioning of the body, including its metabolism and energy conservation.

Sleep could be the ultimate elixir to lead a happy and healthy life. Increased screen time and mental stress could thus have a long-term impact on the body.

What’s your thoughts on this? Is sleeping the solution to health issues?

Getting 7–9 hours of quality sleep daily promotes overall health by assisting in waste clearance, cellular regeneration, metabolic regulation, and immune support. Furthermore, it provides the essential energy for the next day’s activities, making it a foundational priority even over exercise in some contexts.
