As we speak today india is manufacturing all kinds if drugs but some diseases required more advanced medical cure that we donāt have so, some times we need english medicine
Yes . I totally agree with your points.
In todays fast pace world, Allopathic med craze is high. It is fast but comes with many side effects.
It is not western medicine that destroys us, but the commercialization of medicine as a whole. It has shifted the focus from the intent to heal to the intent to monetize peopleās suffering. This corruption has found its way into medicine all over the world, even our traditional practices.
The reason for this is ease. Western medicines are quick and easy solutions. In a hustle lifestyle, any patient will always choose the fastest and easiest options. The efficiency relience gained more by western medicines than the traditional ones.
The choosing of western medicines require long term thinking. Not everybody is equipped for this.
According to me, traditional medicines should be preferred first including the home remedies and if not cured, can opt for western ones. The major role here is to be played by the healthcare professionals.
Not inherently. Western medicine saves lives, but when used in isolation or driven by profit rather than care, it can lead to over-medicalization, disempowerment, and missed opportunities for prevention and healing
Traditional medicine has less side effects than the western medicine but the thing is they ( traditional medicine) are slow in curing and people are not ready to wait and automatically they go for western medicine
You canāt say that traditional medicines doesnāt have side effects. Traditional medicines are not researched as much as allopathic medicines. So we know the side effects of allopathic medicines but traditional medicines side-effects are not yet that much known. Whatever medicines we use it has to be well researched.
It depends on the disease condition. As an ayurvedic physician myself, I can say that not all ayurvedic medicines are as effective as modern medicines. So for acute conditions, we must go for modern medicine as there is no other way, but for chronic health conditions ayurveda and traditional medicine is the best option.
For minor issues slightly we can use traditional treatment rather than western medicine as prolonged usage of western medicine leads to major health issues.
In my opinion not at all, Western medicine techniques has been improving day by day for human wellbeing. But in some cases people should take step towars naturopathy in some normal illness conditions because depending on english medecine all the time even for low risky treatments is inviting side effects ourselfes, having said that in modern days peopleās mind immedietely strikes for english medicine whenever a Ailment come. Most of the people are unaware of naturopathy and its diverse uses.
Western medicine is the one that is helping people recover from a disease that takes months and years for a traditional medicine to cure. Traditional medicine also works but slowly with a benefit of minimal side effects compared to western medicine. As a Clinical Pharmacist, my view is, any medicine taken beyond its appropriate limits can be harmful and pose serious health risks.
English medicine is good for emergencies and serious illnesses, but Ayurveda and other traditional systems have their own strengths in keeping us healthy and balanced. Maybe a mix of both is the way to go.
As of now the environment is not same as the ancient India, and Indian medications are mostly plant related so if we depend ourselves to Indian medicine it will show effectiveness but not as fast and as healing as western meds. Human body is becoming more and more complex with its adapting skills. So yes we require western medicines for now and we can also have trad medicines.
Completely agree ⦠Still a lot of research needs to be done when it comes to traditional medicine
Completely agree ⦠With changing lifestyle both medicine Branches are equally important
Totally agree ⦠Both had their own pros and cons
Western medicine isnāt inherently destructive but how itās used matters a lot. When itās over-relied on without considering lifestyle, root causes, or the bigger picture of healthāyes, it can do more harm than good. But when balanced with holistic practices and used judiciously, it can be life-saving and transformative.
Yes, its true that western medicine are effective and show onset of action but it also have some side effect and adverse drug reaction. Then too many people are using western medicine due itās onset if action and for faster relief.
I feel every medicine has its own significance and what should be taken out of modern and traditional medicine/treatment solely depends upon why one is taking it and whatās the health concern and the intensity of the issue one is facing. Most of the traditional treatments (apart from a few) are not validated by scientific research and thatās why not much of information can be available for them. In short-term and long-term, how these medicines and treatments can impact someoneās health are not largely documented. Modern medicines are mostly preferred over traditional therapies because of several evidence-based studies on them, so doctors know about the potential advantages and limitations these medicines can cause and the patient can be rightly guided. Traditional treatments one can go for, when the health concern is not much escalated or after the course of modern medicine is towards the health maintenance and also in the form of side-by-side treatment (only after the physicianās consultation). Modern medicines mostly help in immediate relief, whereas traditional treatments take time to offer the full therapeutic benefits.
The neglect of our traditional medicinal system and way of life due to foreign invasions has had lasting impacts.
- Our traditional medicinal system may not be as effective for modern health issues due to changes in lifestyle, diet, and environment.
- However, traditional medicine can still be effective in preventing and treating diseases over a longer period.
- The drawback is that traditional medicine often requires patience and time, which is a luxury many canāt afford in todayās fast-paced world.
- As a result, we often rely on Western medicine for its quick effects, despite potential long-term consequences.
- To revive our traditional medicinal system, itās essential to also revive our traditional way of living, including our diet and lifestyle habits.
