A viral image which has been circulating showing an insulin cream that can control the blood sugar level through the skin .
Sound like a dream , right
But here’s the truth
Many people who are suffering from the diabetes, managing their blood sugar levels through taking regular medicine or the insulin shots - but here’s a new invention by scientists …..
A polymer based gel that can deliver insulin through the skin without needles.
Currently ,the research has been done on mice and pigs their blood sugar level has been monitored after one to two hours of application. The blood sugar level maintained for approx 12 hours .
However , the test has been conducted only on mice and pigs . Though human skin varies in its thickness, fat content and pH .
What are your thoughts on it if this research is successful on human skin too ?

The main concern is the accurate insulin dose present in the cream, because it could lead to improper dosing of the active ingredient.

That’s really interesting.
but there could be chances of dose inconsistency during application, and also factors like heavy sweating might affect absorption and reduce its effectiveness

it’s a promising innovation but still early-stage. If successful in humans, it could genuinely change diabetes care but we’re not there yet…
