I come across a saying a lot in medical field. If someone goes to a CME regularly, stay away from him. Conferences and Seminars are a different story

Yeah, I think it’s because they are there for the sole reason called credits which are mandated to renew your license every 5 years.

As a medical student/young doctor, I found CME vital in bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and real-world clinical practice. Attending CME sessions exposed me to current guidelines, cutting-edge treatments, and expert insights that textbooks often lack. It boosted my confidence during rotations and helped me make more informed decisions. Most importantly, CME fostered a habit of lifelong learning, which I now see as essential for providing the best patient care.

No, not those CME’s. I’m talking about CMEs which are pharma companies sponsored and provide no knowledge but only food and gifts…

CME acts as a great way to help doctors to stay updated with regularly seen cases and treatment advancements.
Including the CMEs conducted in our medical colleges biannually or more, many other platforms provide pre-recorded CME content and online CME events to attend remotely as well.
CME credits are a plus, they encourage you to approach updating more and build up on the learning streak.
