During coursework, most students focus completely on academics in the hope of getting into a stable career. They attend lectures throughout, complete assignments on time, score high grades. Yet they find difficulty in growing their career. Why? This is because building a career depends not only on academics but also requires levelling oneself up to tackle issues and provide solutions. One can do this by gaining skills and acquiring the ability to present it.
Here comes the importance of portfolio. This is a document which represents talent and skills of an individual. Portfolio plays a vital role in every career one chooses be it dance, artists, content creator etc. It is a common misconception that portfolio is to be built for seeking jobs. Instead, it is useful tool for presenting oneself for self-reflection, peers, collaborators, clients in freelance work, applying to universities for higher studies. Thus, one’s portfolio plays a crucial role in getting them forward in life.

In today’s time it is essential for every student to have a portfolio handy after graduating due to the importance it has. Thus, in colleges students should be made aware about the concept of portfolio and its importance. Also, workshops for portfolio building should be organized in colleges to make students eligible to build good portfolios for themselves. This initiative will enrich the knowledge of students and also provide them an opportunity to apply it in outside world.
