Johnson & Johnson has received approval from the U.S. FDA for ICOTYDE , which delivers complete clearance of skin in moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.
It is a once-daily pill that binds to and blocks the IL-23R protein responsible for inflammation in psoriasis.
It is used for the treatment of adults and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older who weigh at least 40 kg. Patients who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy will be eligible for Icotyde.
Icotyde is also being studied in active psoriatic arthritis, moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis, and moderately to severely active Crohn’s disease.
Psoriasis affects more than 8 million people in the U.S. and roughly 5.5 to 35 million people in India.
Don’t you think the arrival of Icotyde in India would be beneficial?
If it also gets approved for gastrointestinal conditions, it would be even more beneficial.
