  1. The first three years are heavily focused on medical subjects, with only a small portion of dental topics.
  2. The real dental deep-dive begins in final year, that’s when everything starts making sense!
  3. Practical training begins from first year on dummy models, but actual patient handling starts in third year.
  4. Internship is all clinical, with no theory — your true test in real-world dentistry.

While the first three years are totally based on medical subjects, sometimes it happens that you start becoming adrift from dental, in my case, what worked for me, was attending as many conferences and workshops as possible so that I don’t stay away. While Attending such events, even if you don’t understand anything at that very point, it’s okay. As they say- knowledge once gained is never wasted. It’ll be helpful in future.
