Start slow.
Don’t rush for the super speciality preparation in the 1st year of residency.
Plan properly.
Start with the approaches and the general part of the harrison’s text book.
Read the ECG part from the Goldberger’s .
Rest all can follow accordingly.

Though I did Peds, but I agree with the general principles.
Systemic approach and mastering the general aspects of patient care and also apprising oneself of ICU care creates a good foundation upon which sub-specialty knowledge cab be built upon.

Start with understanding the routine and approach of your unit (seniors, SRs, Consultants)
Accustom yourself with your new college, know what is done where
Study about every case that is admitted in your ward, or you see in the opd that day
And
Try to sleep when you can where you can!
