Have you ever looked at a clear night sky, covered with tiny specks of light called stars, and wondered what really is the universe? How big is it? Everything has an end. So there must be an end to the universe we speak of. If there is an end, what lies beyond it? And if the universe is infinite, what really does that mean? How can something truly be infinite?
The universe that we see, alone stretches approximately 93 billion light years in diameter and scientists believe the actual universe extends far beyond even that. Numbers so large that they are incomprehensible to the human mind.
In front of the entire universe, our lives and problems seem infinitesimally minute.
Perhaps the most humbling realisation is not how big the universe is but how extraordinary it is that something as small as us can even think to ask those particular questions and at the same time are also trying to find the answers to it.
These are thoughts I find myself lost in every time I look at a clear night sky. Would love to know who else asks these questions and how many of you feel exactly the same way.
What is some topic that makes you wonder?
