Gaps between Exams: A Boon or a Curse

Exams are inherently stressful, and the way papers are scheduled can either ease or intensify the pressure. During my academic life, I have consistently observed that the exam papers with longer gaps in between often didn’t go as well. Interestingly, many of my classmates have shared similar experiences.

The negative implications of these gaps include inconsistent preparation, overthinking, reduced retention and procrastination. However, as every coin has two sides, the positive aspects of gaps between exam papers include providing rest, enabling focused revision and reducing exam pressure etc.

Ultimately, it depends on how students utilize these gaps, whether they turn them into productive intervals or let them become distractions. When used wisely, gaps can cater well to individual needs and enhance overall exam performance .

What are your thoughts whether gaps boosts exam performance or weakens it?
