Why do competitive exams feel so… life-taking?

Exams like and are supposed to test knowledge. But sometimes, it feels like they test everything else too..your mental health, your patience, your self-worth.

I still think about that phase between the end of intermediate and my competitive exams…

And honestly?

It’s a blur.

I don’t even remember how those days passed. Just constant pressure. Constant stress.

Feeling lost… and scared… almost all the time.

It wasn’t just studying. It was overthinking, expectations, comparison, fear of “what if I fail?”

And the worst part?

Everyone around you acts like this is normal.

Maybe it is common…But that doesn’t make it easy.

Sometimes I wonder, Why does a phase that decides so much of our future, have to feel this heavy?

If you’ve gone through this, tell me honestly

Were you also this stressed during your competitive exam phase? Or did you handle it differently?
