Community medicine gives the opportunity to be in the real world and apply the knowledge gained from the medical textbooks in the society.
Be it family health surveys for detection of any diseases, visiting tin huts for checking immunisation status of children, it teaches much beyond the books- makes you humble and grounded. Spreading awareness about communicable diseases & providing practical solutions- makes you feel that this is indeed something you always wanted to do .
It also gives you the chance to give back something to society.
What is one unforgettable experience from your PSM posting?
