She wasn’t non-compliant. She just couldn’t afford her meds.
Another patient missed follow-ups—not because she didn’t care, but because her son couldn’t take off work to bring her.
That’s when it hit me:
It’s not always about ignorance or neglect.
Sometimes, it’s about access and systems that don’t work for everyone.
I still love the clinical side.
But now, I find myself asking—
What can we change outside the hospital, so fewer people need to end up inside it?
