We used to do experiments on pithed frogs to see the effects of various drugs on heart and GI system. This was in pharmacology practicals.
Is this still being done or has this practice being dispensed with?
No they aren’t done in mbbs anymore bt i guess they still use frogs n other animals for pharmacology residency

Clinical trials might include frogs however, I never dissected a frog during medicine 
so, maybe they aren’t used in medical field anymore, Even during high school biology

yes they are not used in mbbs and pharma field anymore due to some animal rights.
They are not done anymore but we still learn those experiments theoretically to understand the physiology.
