Forensic dentistry, this is a new field emerging in many of the deemed and private universities. Well, this can also have a future in India, as Forensics will have a wide spectrum of analysis.
Scope for forensic dentistry incorporates a bigger field of forensic medicine be it the sex determination or bite marks and abuse or violence involving teeth and which help in identification of the suspect.
The scope of forensic dentistry in India is gaining momentum and people are a little more aware in recent years but due to the lack of limited resources and opportunities, the scope is less. The courses are not that advanced yet. Also the fact that the legal system hasn’t recognized the potential of forensic dentistry.
The legal system abroad has better resources and funds to maximise the potential forensic dentistry has to offer by managing national databases as well as using it in different investigations. So the scope is definitely better compared to India
