I think this post is a little exaggerated .. in internship even though you dnt get regular stipend. .. gloves and mask were always provided by college.. bcoz attending to patients is not entirely your necessity and you dnt have any quota to complete in internship.
Most of the dental materials and lab materials were provided by the college for which they will take lab fees along with tuition fees.
But still u hav some expenses because sometimes they are out f stock and u need to finish your work in time ..and if u keep your lab coat cleaner and wash it regularly .. (use vanish):grin:u can survive the whole student life in 3 coats ..
Yea but exams fees, instruments, and books u can’t avoid.. but this will be useful later in life tooo…

It differs from college to college. In my college we used to buy all the dental material like cement, composites, even handwash, gloves, headcaps. Literally everything.
Please correct me if I’m wrong and feel free to adjust the charges that I’ve put so that everyone can get clarity.

Sad part is even after spending so much, salary given to us in clinics is very less

I guess it differs in dental colleges.. also we were already paying the college fees for these materials along with tution fees.. so that might be balancing it..

For postgraduates, it depends on the field of your degree. The annual cost of prosthodontics and endodontics is higher than that of any non-clinical field.
Also, it heavily depends on the college of your post-graduation - government/private or deemed.

Plus not to forget the hostel/ accomodation charges.

And to add I think the thesis work and conferences, that too international ones will cost a lot.
