Expectations Vs Reality.... featuring Netter's Anatomy

When I was travelling abroad for medical studies, one book that I was suggested to read was Netter’s Anatomy. Like an obedient junior, I got that book, and when I opened it for the first time during my first anatomy class, I was bamboozled. It was colorful and too detailed. It is really important when it comes to the anatomy atlas point of view, but as a first-semester student, it turned out to be my first lecture trauma.

:sheaf_of_rice:Have you had any similar experience vs reality situation with any of the books while you were studying or while you were a first-semester student ?? or any other book trauma during your first-semester days?? :sheaf_of_rice:

For me, it was Guyton’s Physiology, Everyone called it the Bible, so I got it with high hopes. But when I started reading, it felt more like decoding literature than learning physiology. Took me weeks to understand a single chapter. Total reality check!

I totally totally agree to that as well and that make me switch to Stuart Ira Fox for physiology
