What actually happened?

— Sudden hearing loss is a phenomenon that although rare have been reported after dental works.
— Anything that may impact the capilary flow within the area of cochlear and middle ear have the potential to cause sudden hearing loss.
— Microembolism resulting from surgery, anesthesia, TMJ infections or dysfunctions and gum infections have been suspected as possible causative factors to idiopathic loss of hearing.

The comprehensive dental and TMJ rehabilitation done to the patient may have resolved the original cause and restored hearing.
