Enough with talking about AI, let's start learning it now!

We all are well aware of “AI: Artificial intelligence”. We hear & use it multiple times on daily basis. But there’s more to it. AI is the board term. There’s alot that’s going within this massive pool.

There are more terms like- ML, DL, LLM. Any idea what are all these? Let me break them down for you.

  1. Artificial intelligence (AI)- it’s the broadly defined term for intelligent machine.
  2. Machine learning (ML)- it’s the process by when AI starts recognising patterns from the data we feed it.
  3. Deep learning (DL)- it’s the process where AI starts forming neural connections and starts connecting dots and forms pattern by itself. It’s like forming memory.
  4. Large language models (LLM)- it’s the subset of Generative AI and focuses primarily on language related tasks. The most commonly use are- ChatGPT, Gemini etc.

So, that’s the basics of AI and a lot of deeper level learning is associated with AI.

AI is no more the future, it’s here….it’s the present now! So leave the conversations about ‘how AI is going to take over job market?’ and start learning about it, so you can be ahead of others & secure your job!

AI isn’t knocking on the door anymore, it’s sitting in the room with us. Whether you’re in medicine, research, or management, you can’t afford to treat AI like a distant tech trend. You don’t need to become a coder, but you do need to understand the tools shaping your field. In a world where AI evolves weekly, staying updated isn’t pressure, it’s power.

AI is no longer a distant innovation; it’s woven into daily work across healthcare, law, finance, education, and even creative fields. Understanding the basics of AI, ML, DL, and LLMs is becoming less of an advantage and more of a necessity. As systems learn patterns, make predictions, and automate routine tasks, professionals who adapt will thrive, while those who resist risk falling behind. The goal isn’t to fear job loss but to upskill, collaborate with AI, and use it as a tool to amplify human judgment. Staying updated isn’t optional, it’s essential for relevance, growth, and future proof careers.

Absolutely!

Yes, rightly said. As they are saying, “ we won’t loss job to AI but to people who learn to use AI”

You can’t survive without using AI, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, your concepts and basics must be clear. The quality of your work with AI depends on how good your prompts are. For example, anyone can ask AI to create content on an XYZ topic, but a person with real knowledge will ask AI to create content by providing search intent, focus keywords, target audience, and YMYL/E-E-A-T guidelines. Their content will be far better than that of someone who uses AI without any skill or understanding. So don’t blame AI by saying, “AI will take my job.” There is no future without AI. AI will save you time, speed up your work, and allow you to use that time to learn new skills and upgrade yourself.

Definitely! We have to treat AI like a child, the better we feed it, direct it and train it, the better relationship we’ll have with it and the better outcome we’ll get.

We should advocate for a better setup for training both the newer and older generations in the nuances of AI in healthcare. Somehow, the discussions around this have either been about the fear that surrounds this topic or the possible chnages it will bring to healthcare. We need to move past this and take action. Committees should be established in each institution to develop modules that train professionals not only in the usage but also in the development of such innovative tools. Let us move beyond being the beneficiaries of discoveries and make one ourselves. Let us equip ourselves to develop empowering applications and programs in collaboration with software engineers and data scientists. Most online AI courses are not teaching innovation but promoting blind usage of AI tools.
