Dopamine resets: a necessity

In today’s day and age, we have a lot of things that give us continuous dopamine hits and are highly stimulating like scrolling on social media, consuming junk food, playing video games or mobile games.

These activities are highly addictive and can overstimulate our brains. This reduces focus and motivation and leaves us wanting constant “rewards”.

Therefore, it is necessary for us to indulge in “dopamine resetting activities” to reduce brain sensitivity and regulate it.

Some of these activities include:

  • going on a walk

  • doing yoga or stretching

  • reading a book

  • practising mindfulness activities

  • taking a “digital detox”
